¹On April 19, Gim Hyeong-dae and his wife and Gim Bong-u of Jangyeon Village visited Taemonim and implored,²“Yang Sang-gyu’s son, Seok-bong, of our village was somehow afflicted with an acute illness, and now he nears death. Please cure him of his illness.”

³Taemonim commanded, “You three must promptly go to the son’s house, bring your minds together, and carry out the dharma for extending life.”

⁴Carrying out this command, the three arrived at the sick son’s house, where Sang-gyu’s wife with the surname Gim, embracing her son and wailing, begged them to save her child. ⁵And so, they placed a large pot of cheongsu in the middle of the room and chanted the Sicheonjuju Mantra and the Chilseonggyeong Scripture Mantra seven times each. ⁶Afterward, each of the three spooned cheongsu into the son’s mouth and then chanted the Chilseonggyeong Scripture Mantra for three hours. As a result, the son’s illness was completely cured and his life was extended.

⁷One day, Taemonim declared, “Vast power of creation-transformation lies within the Chilseonggyeong Scripture Mantra. The Chilseonggyeong Scripture Mantra is a magnificent mantra for the well-being of descendants, so chant it many times.”
