¹After offering the Chiseong of April 8, Taemonim asked the disciples, “Do you understand the meaning of ‘origination, proliferation, benefit, and firmness?’”

²Gim Won-myeong answered, “It means: be principled and upright in all matters.”

³“There are two paths in origination, proliferation, benefit, and firmness,” Taemonim revealed. “What is achieved through meritorious deeds will reap its reward; what is committed through sins will reap its reward.”

⁴Taemonim also proclaimed, “Even that which you forget, I know. Wholeheartedly devote yourself to the practice that is unknown to others.⁵The sins you commit from time to time, even heaven cannot undo; the meritorious deeds you achieve from time to time, even heaven cannot wrest away.”

⁶Taemonim continued, “Since the April 8 celebration marks the day of Shakyamuni Buddha’s birth, that celebration should be conducted at Buddhist temples—this has no relation to us.⁷We must observe the seasons that dictate the tides of the world, so it is proper that, from this time forth, the Chiseong of April 8 be offered according to the calendar of twenty-four seasons.⁸This is a return to the original roots.”

⁹Taemonim also declared, “The future shall be the destiny of Maitreya. The religions of the Early Heaven have all expired.”
