¹On January 18, 1931 (DG 61), over ten Bocheongyo practitioners came before Taemonim and bemoaned their hunger.²Turning to Yi Yong-gi, Taemonim said, “Bocheongyo practitioners are suffering from hunger as these people are, so consider what should be done about this matter.” She then spoke about resolving the bitterness and grief of Bocheongyo martyrs.

³Yong-gi quickly met with Gim Do-bong of Oryong-dong Village, Jeong Deok-geun of Haejeon-ri Village, and Song Byeong-u of Gwangam-ri Village; and Yong-gi conveyed Taemonim’s words to them and expressed his worries about the lack of funds.⁴The three practitioners pledged their support, and they raised two seok of rice and seventy won as an initial fund and opened a grain-selling business in Daeheung-ri Village, which they used to acquire the resources to provide basic goods and provisions to the starving Bocheongyo practitioners.⁵Moreover, some of the resources were used in a work of renewal for resolving the bitterness and grief of Bocheongyo martyrs. However, by March, the three practitioners’ funds for the grain-selling business were completely depleted.

⁶A time later, Taemonim summoned the three practitioners and commended them, “What you accomplished was truly admirable.”
